Some examples of Pages that may find this useful are:
- Global brands: Starbucks, who has over 5MM Fans across the world, may want to talk about a new drink currently only available in the U.K.
- Musicians & Celebrities: The Foo Fighters may want to announce to fans in California that new tour dates have been added across the state.
- Local: Red Mango may want to let fans in Palo Alto, California know that a new frozen yogurt shop is opening locally.
- Celebrities: Roger Federer may want to separately thank his English-speaking and French-speaking fans in their respective languages.
To use this feature, click the 'people' icon next to the Share button, and click Customize.
A dialog box will appear in which you can enter locations and languages. You can begin by entering a country in the "Locations" field. Based on the country you enter, additional options for state/province and city may also appear. Next, you may want to enter a language in the "Languages" field. You can enter multiple locations and languages based on the fans you are interested in reaching with your post.
Once you've selected custom location and language settings and published your post, the next time a user visits your page, they will only see the content that you intended them to see on the Wall and within native Facebook application tabs (photos, videos, links). Posts sent to "everyone" without custom location or language settings will be seen by any fan or Facebook user, regardless of whether that person is signed in. Finally, admins will see all posts and can hover over the 'people' icon next to any post to find out which settings were applied to, and thus which users are able to see, that post.
Enjoy, and we look forward to receiving your feedback!
