Since we're such huge fans of the film and want to support it any way we can, we've arranged to ship the Canadian print down to Austin for a weeklong engagement. We'll start it off with a free screening for 2010 Fantastic Fest badgeholders and then open it up to the general public. I think you will be as charmed by the film as I was."

Evokative Films is a Canadian distribution company, but we got a special permission from the producers to organize screenings of this beautiful film in Austin where, we've learned, people like good films.
The DVD will then be coming out on Dec. 22nd, but again, since we're a Canadian distribution company, you won't see this one at your local video store, so this is THE CHANCE to see the film that got critics and cinephile swooning over everywhere it played.
*Synopsis
Leading a lazy life, Fumiya has been a university student for 8 years and owes money to loan sharks. One day, a man named Fukuhara comes to collect the loan, which Fumiya cannot pay. So Fukuhara makes a proposition: He will cancel the debt as long as Fumiya agrees to walk with him across Tokyo to the police station of Kasumigaseki, where he intends to turn himself for a crime he deeply regrets. Not having much choice, Fumiya accepts the deal. Thus begins their journey as life wanders on. Based on the original novel by Naoki Prize winner Yoshinaga Fujita comes a fascinating and humorous film capturing various encounters on a walking trip across Tokyo.

Harry and I had the pleasure of checking out this film a few weeks ago, and I can tell you all whole-heartedly that it is absolutely magical. I loved every second of the film and can't wait to check it out again! Expect Fantastic Mr. Fox food specials at the show and during the regular run at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. (Tim League)

Hey guys, I just got the heads up from Paramount that they are throwing 10 exclusive parties for the first 10 theaters to sell out next Thursday's midnight showing of Paranormal Activity. I can't say what the details are, but it's going to be very cool. If you haven't seen it yet, or would like to bring some friends... to check it out again, please do it at this show!
Fantastic Fest premiered PARANORMAL ACTIVITY on opening day of Fantastic Fest and also hosted screenings in several other markets across the country, so it would be awesome to bring this party to Austin where it belongs.
