TRANSPARENCY IN DECISION MAKING
I am amazed to discover this group and this symposium, unlikely too late to participate!!!!! I am a PhD student settled down in UK studying new technology (in particular multimedia tools) supporting transparency in participatory planning Practices. I am enthusiast to link and join network of people or organization working in the field. So if someone out there is interested just give me a voice at a.deliddo@open.ac.uk.

Young people and eParticipation: Can X-Factor excitement beat bureaucratic boredom?
We have an action packed session planned to help explore what we can learn from young people about eParticipation at the Symposium!
The session will feature an interactive talk show style debate between young people, practitioners and audience members covering a variety of issues and topics such as 'Social networking: Good or bad?', 'Media perception of young people' and 'Current provision - are we at the forefront or are we being left behind?'
We also have lots of activities planned to ensure you do not go home disappointed! So make sure you come and visit us!
The guests for the session have been confirmed and we have a mixture of young people and practitioners. They will all be joining the Facebook group soon so look out for their profiles!
I look forward to meeting you all at the end of the month!

Hi, I would like to let you know that Commission on Legal Empowerment of the Poor co-chaired by Madeleine Albright and Hernando de Soto met for the last time yesterday in NY and that a global agenda on the matter will be launched pretty soon. 22 Consultations corelating law and poverty were held in developping countries around the world, they revealed the urgency of tailoring ICT for reaching out the rural poor and braodening accesibility to make law work for all. Are you going to webcast or podcast the contents of your extraordianry symposium?
Bye for now

Hello and welcome to the Citizen Empowerment Symposium Facebook Group.
The Symposium Steering Group and I are keen to use this Group not just to let you know what is happening with the Symposium, but also to get your feedback on the event and find out what you want to see. Please make use of this wall and the discussion boards to have your say. There is now a discussion thread about tangible outcomes so take part and let your thoughts flow.
I look forward to seeing you all in February in London!
